Chapter 8

In Chaper 8 the thing that I will remember the most is the Chinese Exclusion Act. This act was passed in 1882. It was passed because the Americans thought that the Chinese were taking jobs from them. This is important to our state’s history because it caused a lot of havoc. Like, 3 Chinese people were killed by Americans in 1885.

Chapter 7

In chapter 7, the things that I will work on the most is, the Trail of Tears. What I learned is that this trail gets its name for the thousands that died during the trail. Also, this trail is 1,ooo miles long.  This is an important part of our history because,  it explains why and how the Cherokee Indians moved from Washington to Oklahoma.

Chapter 6

In Chapter 6, I learned about the devastating Whitman Massacre. The things that I will remember the most is that the  it all started because of a misunderstanding. When the plague broke out, the Indians were the most affected, not being immune. They then, blamed Marcus Whitman for this even when it was not his fault. This is an important part of our state history because, this Massacre was very bloody, and it showed how one false idea could bring an uproar.

Chapter 5

In Chapter 5, the thing that I will remember the most is about John Jacob Astor. What I learned is that he was a German immigrant who set up the Fur Co. in Washington. He was also one of the richest in American history. He is important to our state’s history because he established the Pacific Fur Co. He got his wealth from that company.

Chapter 4

In Chapter 4, the thing that I remember the most is about Vitus Bering. I learned Vitus Bering established fur trapping and trading posts in North America. This is important because the posts help the people who come in later for fur trapping.

Chapter 3

In chapter 3, the thing I’ll remember the most is about the Coastal and Plataeu Indians. What I learned is that both types of Indians have religons that revolve around the natural world. This is important to our state’s history because the Indians did stuff and performed deeds that really are different to the people today. They also gave a different way of thinking to the pilgrims who came into the New World.

Chapter 2

In Chapter 2, the thing that I will remember the most are the different regions and the habitats they hold. One of the things that I learned is that Willapa Hills is gets a lot of precipitation due to being next to the Pacific Ocean. This is important to our state because it tells us that Willipa Hills is greatly affected by the Pacific Ocean in weather. Because of the weather there will be different types of animals, ect .

Chapter 1

In chapter one, the thing that I will remember the most are the scablands. What I learned is that, there were a series of floods that occured after/during the ice age. An ice dam was built. Water would build up behind it. Breaking a hole in the ice, it would go at a crazy speed eroding everything in it’s path. It’s result? The scablands. This is an impotant part of history because many scientists have been puzzled at the fact of how the scablands were created.

My wiki…….. and S.S project

The best part of my project is my conclusion and the section explaining the imacts on a certain individual although, it was challenging. The thing that needs to be improved is my content. It could have been longer and more detailed. If I had to redo it, I would make it more unique and have more content.

The process we used was …. well, very different. In ways good, in ways bad. Diigo was ver helpful, and I loved the fact that you could very easily take ‘notes’ down! Wikispaces was also pretty easy because we had a templete guiding us, so we knew exactly what to do. Although, I don’t get the idea of the website evaluation and think it is pointless. Also, I felt less productive using the computer to do a project than an actual poster ect. Edmodo is also cool because it’s so easy to get questions answered and we don’t need to call someone just for a simple question!

All in all, this project was ok.

Muhammad Book

Making the Muhammad book was a very long process for me if I wanted to make it of good quality. I think I did well on personalizing the book and making it colorful. Also, my summeries were a good length. Although I could have put more effort on the cover of my book. I learned that Muhammad had a great influence on the people of the Arabian Penninsula-so much that he could convert people to a religon that was alien to many of them.
I would prefer doing a project because I think I learn from it better. I learn better from projects because you have to research about facts and write it down yourself – which I think sticks to my brain more.
